1 Corinthians 15:54-55 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?"

Bible Verse of the Day Saturday October 10th 2020
Our
mortal bodies are perishable and have an expiration date, but our immortal
bodies that we will receive when Christ Jesus returns to the earth and sets up
the New Heaven and the New Earth will never expire. Paul used a reference from
the prophet Isaiah's writings and the prophet Hosea in today's verse of the day
(Isaiah 25:8; Hosea 13:14).
On
February 21, 2018, the world lost one of God's most faithful servants, Billy
Graham. Brother Billy is at home with the Lord and has heard His master say to
him, "well done my good and faithful servant." Brother Billy was
quoted in an article once as saying, "one day you will hear that Billy
Graham has died," he then said, "don't believe it." Like all
children of God, Billy has not died but exchanged the mortal for the immortal,
the perishable for the imperishable.
When
we receive our resurrected bodies, our celestial bodies will not be a revived
or revivified mortal body. They will be a new creation that will never suffer
from old age and its associated ailments. Sigmund Freud once said, "there
is the painful riddle of death, for which no remedy at all has yet been found,
nor probably ever will be." I must break it to Mr. Freud, and all that
follow his teachings, that is a false statement. God said to us through the
Apostle Paul, "Death has been swallowed up in victory."
There
are many fears that people live with every day of their lives, and the fear of
death is the most dreaded and frightening of these anxieties and trepidations.
This is something that no born again, washed in the blood of Christ Jesus child
of God will ever have to fear. This is because we know what happens when our
physical bodies reach their expiration date. We know that we will be with our
Lord and Savior in Heaven until the day comes that this earth is destroyed with
fire and a new heaven and a new earth will come down from heaven (2 Peter 3:10; Revelation 21:1-2; Ecclesiastes 12:7).
We
who are citizens of the kingdom of God will take up residence in the New City
along with Christ Jesus and live for eternity (Revelation
22:1-5). For those who do not believe and follow
Christ Jesus, death has the final word in their lives. However, for the true
children of God, death does not have the final word; Christ Jesus does. As
written to us by the Apostle Paul, the words of Christ Jesus are: "Death
has been swallowed up in victory."
John 3:16 For God so loved the
world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not
perish but have eternal life.
