Bible Verse of the Day Monday February 15th 2021

Deuteronomy 32:27 but I dreaded the taunt of the enemy, lest the adversary misunderstand and say, ’Our hand has triumphed; the LORD has not done all this.’

When a catastrophe occurs in our lives, how do we respond to the authority and dominion of almighty God? How do we hold on to the power of God? How do we continue to stand on solid ground when we ask ourselves: Where is God when we need Him the most? We do not have to search very far in God's Holy Word to find example after example where God was always with His people.

Amalekite soldiers overran king David's camp at Ziklag. They burned the encampment and took all of the women, children, and soldiers left behind to guard the camp into captivity. (1 Samuel 30:1-4). To make matters worse, the people were thinking about stoning David, blaming him for the loss of their loved ones (1 Samuel 30:6). Instead of immediately chasing after the raiding party, David went to God, who assured him he would be successful in retrieving all those taken in captivity (1 Samuel 30:8).

Joseph was an arrogant young man that his Father favored, and he rubbed it into his brothers. They concocted an evil scheme to sell him into slavery and told their father wild animals ate him. It was difficult, to say the least, for young Joseph to maintain his faith in God while in prison in Egypt (Genesis 37),

In both cases, God was right there and had never left or forsaken them. Joshua had a solid promise from God that He would never leave or forsake Him, and that promise is still in effect today as it will be for eternity (Joshua 1:9; Deuteronomy 31:6).

G. Campbell Morgan said"When you have reminded yourselves of that lowest level—and some soul may say, I was never deeper down than now—then listen, 'Underneath,' lower than that, 'are the everlasting arms.'"

It matters not how low we believe we have sunk into the sea of despair; we can never get lower than where God's everlasting arms will protect us. Sometimes people get a false idea that it is not God that satisfies our every need, but our feelings about how God protects us. When our feelings fail us and fail us they will; we believe that it is God that has failed us. Some believe that God cannot be our protector unless we can discover something inside ourselves to ensure and convince us that He will never leave or forsake us. Most people only go to God only when all else fails; the idea is, "I have tried everything else; let's see if prayer works."

God is with us every heartbeat of our lives, and the journey will be much smoother if we will only surrender ourselves to God, place our faith and trust in Him, accepting the leading, guidance, and direction of His Holy Spirit.
