Bible Verse of the Day Saturday March 13th 2021

Love will never Fail.

1 Corinthians 13:8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

The Christians at the Church in Corinth displayed extreme pride in the diversity and wealth of the spiritual gifts by which God had blessed them. God endowed the Corinthians with more spiritual gifts than any of the Churches that Paul ministered to; however, in reading Paul's epistles, we ascertain that they were also the most lustful and worldly of all the churches spoken of in Paul's missionary journeys. The Corinthians apparently did not comprehend the importance of a continued spiritual growth process, remaining eternally saved but spiritually undeveloped.

The gifts that all saved followers and believers in Christ Jesus have are amazing, and we should be grateful for every spiritual empowerment we have from God. However, we should seek the "Fruit of the Spirit" with more surrender than any spiritual gift. God's spiritual gifts are for use only in this life; once we exit our physical bodies, we will end all gifts of the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit, on the other hand, is everlasting, will be with us throughout eternity.

There are no human worldly measurements that can calculate how high the heavens are above the earth, nor can the fruit of the Spirit be measured by human standards. The fruit of the Spirit is in conjunction with the Love of God that one cannot imagine by any criteria or benchmarks created by human hands. Love is no cure-all that solves all struggles and difficulties where we find ourselves. Our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, and his closest followers expressed agape love; however, they all endured persecution and cruelty. True Christian love (Agape) is crucial to spread the Gospel of Christ to the ends of the earth.

During the First Century, the Bible was in the development of completion. Followers and believers in Christ Jesus did not have the finished Canon of the New Testament. People depended on the Apostles and Prophets to bring them the truth of God's revealed Word. When the Cannon came to completion, God did away with Prophecy; there was no need for Biblical authors certification by being able to speak in a foreign language without being trained in that tongue. Paul points out in the "Love" chapter (1 Corinthians 13) that Prophecy will cease to exist and speaking in a language that is foreign to someone without training will come to an end (speaking in tongues as it was known). God gives us all spiritual gifts in this life; they will not be necessary for life to come because we will see Christ Jesus face-to-face.

Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 13 that we now only see Christ Jesus's reflection through God's Holy Word. However, in the hereafter, we will see Christ Jesus as He is. We now know in part, but when we are home with the Lord, we will know Him fully, as we are known to Him (1 Corinthians 13:12). However, faith and hope will not be needed when we see Christ Jesus face to face, but the one "fruit of the Spirit" that will go on for eternity is love. Christ Jesus gave Himself for us in a love that cannot be measured (Galatians 2:20); moreover, we should be developing an unconditional love for Christ Jesus and others in our daily sanctification process. (Matthew 22:36-40).
