Bible Verse of the Day Tuesday March 2nd 2021

Psalm 145:18 The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth

In the spring of 1924, Jack Sundine was a four-year-old kid, standing in line with his father inside the White House waiting to meet President Calvin Coolidge. As they neared him, Jack noticed that he said something to each visitor as they shook hands. Soon, the thrilling moment arrived. Jack put his tiny hand into the President's hand. Then the President said words Jack will always remember: "Move along kid, I'm terribly busy.

Unlike four-year-old Jack's very brief encounter with President Coolidge, when we approach God's throne of grace, He will not tell us that "He's too busy." There may be times that we feel like God is not listening to us, but the beautiful truth is that He does hear our prayers, and He does answer prayers. Our Psalm today reminds us that he will listen to anyone who calls out to God in truth.

Psalm 144:3 LORD, what are human beings that you care for them, mere mortals that you think of them.

David poses an excellent point in Psalms 144:3 when he puts forth the question on people's minds still today. How can God care about mere mortals? I wish I could bring you some profound long kept deep secret that would answer that question for you. However, I don't know why with all that our Heavenly Father has to do, He has time to listen to me. I certainly am so thankful that He does have time for every one of us.

One of the most annoying sounds that we can hear is the busy signal on the telephone. In this modern twenty-first century, because of the advancements of voice mail, we don't hear it as often as we used to, but it still raises its ugly head now and then.

When we open the communication to God, we will never hear a busy signal; as a matter of fact, we will not even get sent to voice mail. We will not have to leave an e-mail or a text and hope that God reaches back to us. Our call to God will be answered by Him, in His way and in His time.

I saw a marquee on a church just recently that said: "God answers all knee mail." It is said of science that the fastest thing known to humanity is the speed of light; I contend that the fastest thing on earth and in heaven is God's answer to our prayers.

Some folks wonder, "how do I know when God answers my prayer?" the answer to that is: when you say amen.

To That, I say, Amen.
