Bible Verse of the Day Saturday June 26th 2021

Jude 1:4 For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

The consensus is that Jude, the brother of James, was also a biological brother of Jesus himself. However, he chose not to identify himself as the brother of Jesus but as a servant of our Lord and Savior. This short letter from Jude acts as an encouragement to those who love the Lord. He rejoiced in the beautiful salvation we have through Christ Jesus and His gospel of love and grace. However, the grave issue of false teachers and apostates had befallen the early church and has become increasingly problematic in today's churches.

These wolves in sheep's clothing will stealthily worm their way into the fellowship of Christian brothers and sisters.  There was then and is still today an underground movement of Satan and his evil followers to pervert the Gospel of Christ Jesus as a justification for immorality and seeking worldly fame and fortune. Unfortunately, this subversive and covert Satanic movement that started in just a few early churches has morphed into an untold number of cults and false churches today that focus on self-worth, greed, and pride.

Today these workers of Satan promote a gospel that is far removed from the love, grace, and mercy that the true gospel of Christ Jesus has its solid foundation. These workers of Satan play on the human desire for worldly fame and fortune and the idea that someone has the power in themselves to work their way to eternal life with God. They seek to distort the truth of the Gospel of Christ Jesus under the guise of political correctness and modern-day philosophy. James tells us in this verse that these evil workers stand condemned because they choose not to believe in the one and the only way to heaven, and that is through Christ Jesus (John 14:6; John 8:12). God does not want anyone to perish but for all to come to salvation through Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:3-4; 2 Peter 3:9).

Today, the incursion of satanic teachings has reached a record number, not ever seen before in human history, primarily accelerated through mass world communication and social media. These prognosticators of a false gospel void of salvation by grace through faith disguise themselves as followers and believers of Christ Jesus. We are told from the Apostle Paul's writings that even Satan will disguise himself as an angel of the light (2 Corinthians 11:14).

The way to combat this clandestine evil intrusion into our churches is to nip it in the bud, shut it down before it has a chance to become a movement. Being able to recognize one person bringing forth some brand of works, prosperity, or false prophecy gospel into our midst is critical in stopping Satan in his tracks. There is only one way to do that: through a committed and consecrated prayer life and personal and cooperative Bible Study. When one can understand and comprehend what the true gospel of Christ Jesus should look like, the false or counterfeit gospel will be easier to spot.

With a combination of being alert and sober of mind, knowing that Satan is lurking around looking to destroy what God has built, and learning how to handle the Word of God correctly, we can stop this evil invasion before it gets off the ground (2 Timothy 2:15;1 Peter 5:8).
