Bible Verse of the Day Sunday September 12th 2021

Proverbs 9:8-10 Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you; rebuke the wise and they will love you. Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Many do not want to hear the truth from God because it points out the fact that every true believer in Christ knows ever so well that we are all sinners (Romans 3:23; 3:10). When these mockers are made aware of their sin, they lash out at the human messenger, bringing forth God's Word. There are many instances where these scoffers and disdainers will refuse to go back to a particular church because they were sure that the preacher was centering them out in their message that day. But, on the other hand, the wise person wants to have their sins pointed out so that they may repent of those sins to have a closer and sweeter relationship with their Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.

Rebuke the wise, and they will love you." This part of verse 8 is self-explanatory; the wise person in life wants to learn more about God from someone that may be a bit more well-read on a particular topic or theme. The only person in life that ever increases in knowledge is the one that genuinely wants to learn. There are more than one hundred places in the Bible that makes it crystal clear that "The fear of the LORD" is a reverence, admiration, and respect for God. 1 Samuel 12:14-15 points out the benefits and gains derived from those that fear the Lordas opposed to the fool that does not.

The Holy One spoken of here is, of course, God. We see today when space travel is becoming more common and commercial, people are justifying the massive cost of this venture, with the fact that we are going to learn more about the beginning of life here on our planet. There could be untold trillions of dollars spent on feeding the hungry on this planet if these "space cadets" would download one of the many thousand free copies of God's Holy Word available on the internet, or contact the Gideons, who would be more than willing to send anyone a free hard copy of the Bible. We will never find the answers to the understanding of life in space on some asteroid or lonely planet; we can only find it in God's Holy Word. A young man in a youth church group asked his teacher why God went to all the trouble of making all these other planets if he was not going to put life on them. His teacher responded, "what trouble?"
