Bible Verse of the Day Monday, November 8th, 2021

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you.

There are so many great promises in the Bible; we had a Sunday morning message about God's Promises not long ago. We discovered that there were somewhere around 30,000 promises from God in his Holy Word. None are greater or lesser than another; they are all awesome. What a guarantee we have here in Isaiah 26:3, we can be kept in a place of perfect peace, not just peace but perfect peace. We could never expect any less from a perfect God than perfect peace.

Some experience this tremendous promise of perfect peace, but it is momentary, and they will never stay there. Others may experience peace but not perfect peace. These forms of peace are found in worldly places and occurrences, not from God. If something is not from God, there is only one other place it can originate, from Satan. This counterfeit peace is also the peace of ones that are asleep spiritually.

The World, in general, is so far removed from real peace that an interruption or pause in hostilities has become the new normal of peace. In the World, when someone declares peace, there is still a deep and bitter hatred among those who have entered into the so-called peace. The threats and counter-threats continue, and both sides continue to bear arms against each other. The perfect peace with God is only possible when entered into on God's terms and not on our terms. It requires absolute and total surrender to a life centered around Christ Jesus and unconditional love and forgiveness. One can never find this perfect peace with one another until they have found and accepted peace with God. Since God is the only perfect being in the universe, existing eternally, we will find the only perfect peace in Him.

There is much despair and depression today because we are constantly under attack from three of our worst enemies, doubt, fear, and worry. To counter-attack these surges from Satan, all that is required is to keep our focus on Christ Jesus and trust that He will never leave or forsake us and that although we will have rocky roads to walk, we will never walk them alone (Philippians 4:4-7). As followers and believers in Christ Jesus, we understand that we can have a perfect piece of God that "transcends all understanding."  We comprehend and appreciate how blessed we are with this perfect peace that is available to all because of the substitutionary work done by Christ Jesus on the Cross of Calvary, on our behalf. Our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus secured this peace for us on the Cross and conveyed it to our hearts, minds, bodies, and souls through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (John 14:27).

Lastly, we should remember that perfect peace with God is not an elimination of trials and tribulations but freedom in the innermost parts of our being, even amid neglectfulness, grief, or illness (Proverbs 3:5-6; John 14:27; Psalms 91:1-2;).
