Bible Verse of the Day Tuesday, November 30th 2021

1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

The ones reading this verse that are children of God have overcome the false teachers that Satan is leading, accomplished by faith in Christ Jesus and the power of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. As followers and believers in Christ Jesus, we have overcome Satan and his evil followers, spiritual or human, as we oppose and repel the temptation to doubt, neglect, or disobey the truth of the Word of God (1 Peter 5:9).

The Holy Spirit of God is immeasurably greater than the one in the world, Satan, and all his collaborators and followers. Therefore, believers and followers of Christ Jesus have a resource that can assure victory in every situation, the presence of the Holy Spirit.

We must put our faith and trust in the Holy Spirit and not ourselves. Although God is inestimably stronger than Satan, we are not, and if we try to rely on ourselves, Satan will most certainly have some influence in our lives.

There is an unbreakable bond between the children of God and the Word of God. Satan will aim his fiery darts at the heart of those Christians that have some distance between them and God’s Word. Without a working knowledge of the most potent weapon in the arsenal of every army known to humankind, the weapon would be useless. It works the same with the Bible, the Word of God; if one is not familiar with the truth of the Bible, it will be of no use to that one as a weapon against Satan.

As we are all aware, Jesus used the Word of God against Satan when He was in the wilderness for forty days. Satan was unable to try to convince Jesus of any falsehoods of the Bible because Jesus was the Word of God. For humans, Satan will try to persuade those not familiar with God’s Word of untruths and lies in the Bible. He does that today with the help and aid of false teachers. All it takes is for someone’s heart to start desiring worldly things, fame and fortune over the will of God; then Satan will start baiting his traps. Before you know it, you don’t have time to read and study your Bible, maintain a consistent and consecrated prayer life, or worship with other children of God in His house because you are so busy acquiring more and more wealth. Satan convinced Eve that what God said was not the truth, and she believed him, and then Satan used her to convince her husband, Adam. This evil plan worked so well for Satan that day that he decided to continue that pattern, and it is in use right up to this very second.

The faithful followers and believers of Christ Jesus will not even try to gain victory over the world through their exceptional intellect, even though one may possess boundless and immense knowledge. Instead, the committed and surrendered child of God will always put their faith and trust in Christ Jesus through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the true power in all of God’s children, and Satan is the real power that stands against God and the truth of His Holy Word. So don’t let Satan rob you of the victory that Christ Jesus died on the Cross to give you.
