Bible Verse of the Day Saturday December 25th 2021 (Christmas Day)

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

Matthew 1:23 "The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (which means "God with us").

We have used three verses this Christmas morning to show that the promise of the coming Messiah, the Savior of the world, was planned from the beginning. People down through the ages knew that God was sending a savior to atone for the sins of the world and the Prophets told of the birth of the Baby Jesus in precise detail. We see one of these examples from the writing of the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 7:14).

In the literary world there comes along every so often a work that is considered to be an authoritative work. This is a book or series of books that become a standard through which all other works on a particular subject are judged or compared. Christ Jesus is the authoritative word of God, the standard for all time, past, present, and future. The word Immanuel means “God with us,” God is more than just present in this life, through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit He is always there to lead, guide, and direct our every step. God being with us is on an individual basis as well as collective.

There was an unknown Philosopher many eons ago that wrote that a person when looking on nature seeing its sublimity and beauty will progressively rise to the idea of God. This philosopher continues with the thesis that this person will not experience God because nature does not categorically and undeniably prove the existence of God. The question we have for the ones that hold this premise is does the being that they speak of care when we fall or die? The supporters of the thesis that God is everywhere in nature but not where we can experience Him could be sincere, but they are sincerely wrong. This is what the prophecy from Isaiah and many other prophets were telling us about the birth of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. God is with us through Christ Jesus.

One last thought that has been a continuing theme this Christmas Season, the beginning of the story, the birth of Jesus, is great and wonderful but it is the end of the story that saves us. Christmas, It’s about the Cross.
