Romans 1:28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind so that they do what ought not to be done.
This occurrence is the third incident in this chapter of Romans that God had given humanity over to something when they rejected a revelation from the creator of heaven and earth (Vs. 24 & 26). There is a direct correlation between the rejection of humanity to a revelation of God and one not being concerned with what God teaches through His Holy Word. Many do not believe it is valuable or worthy of their time to seek after and follow the "knowledge of God." In other words, in the minds of those who do not follow God's Holy Word, His truth does not align with their living standards.
Some may ask why God allows
such evil as mass shootings and school shootings to occur. It could be that
because humanity does not welcome God into our schools, halls of justice, and
social gatherings, God has removed His protection in His mercy. Christ Jesus
will not force Himself into our lives; He humbly and patiently waits at the
door after He softly knocks and waits for us to open the door and welcome Him
in (Revelation 3:20).
When there is a rejection of
God's Word, there will always be a consequence that will have to be faced.
People want to hold God's revelation up to their scrutiny or analysis to decide
whether to accept or reject it. When this happens and one denies God's truth,
Satan will move in and have his way with anyone that discards the sacrifice
made by Christ Jesus on the Cross of Calvary as of no importance (1 Timothy
1:15).
God became flesh and dwelt
among us in the person of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, to save people
from their sins. But unfortunately, he did not come to save those living with
the illusion that there are some good works or deeds they can do for their
salvation.
The most astounding and
shocking truth I had ever faced as a lost person was when Pastor Dan Grey told
me I was a sinner. However, He said not to worry that we were all sinners
(Romans 3:23) and that no one of us was righteous (Romans 3:10). He told me
that there was a penalty for my sin, which was eternal death. Still, God had a
special gift for all of us and eternal life in and through Christ Jesus (Romans
6:23). Pastor Dan told me that if I called on the name of the Lord, I would be
Saved (Romans 10:23). Pastor Dan did the most fantastic favor for me that
anyone can do for another person, and that is to introduce someone to Christ
Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
If you are reading this and have accepted Christ Jesus as your Savior, then praise the Lord. However, millions desperately need to be introduced to the only one who can save their eternal souls, Christ Jesus. Once we become saved, we have a mission from God. Let all washed clean by the blood of Christ Jesus share this most wondrous gift of salvation with all who have not yet called on the name of the Lord.
