Resurrection Sunday
Matthew
28:6-7 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see
the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has
risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will
see him.’ Now I have told you.”
We
assertively decree that we believe Christ Jesus walked out of the tomb alive.
However, some of the time, the way we run and cover-up in dread or stress over
what we may end up confronted with, or the choices we make, exhibit that He's
either not alive, or not alive in us!
We
constantly remember Jesus' disciples who took cover behind bolted entryways
after the execution of Christ. We also remember the ones who strolled to the
burial chamber to offer the last assistance of honor for their murdered Savior,
or the two that headed for Emmaus. While Jesus was with them, they were intense
and positive about his case to be the Son of God. However, in death we discover
them shaken, living in dread and disarray, and approaching their day-by-day
business like he had never been there. We should be cautious that we do not
carry on with our lives like Christ is dead. We should be mindful to recall
that as our living Lord He is with us in every day any place we might be! He
stands prepared, not exclusively to help us, but to clear the path for us so
that we will always respect His Lordship.
On
this special Resurrection Day Sunday, we are put in remembrance that He is the
Son of God, and our hearts rejoice with the knowledge that He not only lives
but He lives in us. We feel overawed and speechless at the expressions of the
holy messengers who disclose to us that he is not in that tomb, he has risen.
We are encouraged that Jesus addresses Mary edifying her to tell others that He
has risen and that we serve a risen Savior. We are also blessed that the
directive to tell the world that we serve a risen savior applies to us.
It is
through His grace and mercy that God would excuse us when we get so shrouded
with distress and misery and we fail to remember the joy of living in the light
of Christ Jesus. Let His light at this resurrection sunrise sparkle brilliantly
in our souls, lighting our pathways of displaying the love of Christ Jesus to
this lost, dark and dying world.
The
angel told the women that had come to anoint the body of Jesus to come and see
the place that he had laid. Then they were instructed to go and tell His
disciples that He had risen. Come and see and go and tell, that instruction is
for us today. Once we see with our spiritual eyes that we serve a risen savior,
we can do nothing but tell the world how they too can serve a risen Savior.
Any
fear that we may have had is expelled, fear of death or fear of living and we
have been given a new life in Christ Jesus. This new life is an eternal life
spent with the one that loves us like no one else can. Jesus, who died upon the
Cross, has been raised from the dead by the love of God. Death did not have the
final say. God had the final word, and that word is the eternal life and
eternal love of Christ Jesus.
