Ephesians 6:12-13 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Christians often fail to recognize that we are in spiritual
warfare with Satan. Our enemy is deviously creative and innovative, armed, and
ready for battle 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our cunning enemy will come
after us in ways we might never suspect. Sometimes we believe we have removed
the immediacy of a threat from Satan, and no danger lurks. However, Satan is
always there; he carries out his evil deeds in ways we might not even suspect.
Unfortunately, he is always there in disguises that we may not even recognize
as evil. Therefore, we should never attempt to guess his next move and extended
plans. The Apostle Paul told the Ephesian Christians and, by extension, us to
utilize the tools God has made available to us (The full Armor of God.)
Attempting to solve social problems strictly through human
means is a fool's errand and an endeavor in futility. Some people falsely believe
that if they can shift the pattern in another direction, it will create a
different outcome. No shrewd composition of a group of rotten eggs will make an
excellent omelet. Humanities solutions to the world's problems have a way of
replicating themselves through the years without effect. Neither of these
scenarios will succeed in addressing the ultimate issue, humanity's soul.
We, as Christians, are locked in a life-or-death battle
with an enemy called Satan. The Christian is spiritually struggling with a
personal enemy called the devil. The believer threatens the unanimity of
Satan's evil work and dark kingdom. We must fight these evil spiritual forces
with the resources of God and not by our strength. The only pattern that will
be successful is we must first submit ourselves to God and then resist Satan.
If we attempt that endeavor oppositely, we will ultimately end up in a
spiritual catastrophe.
Christians need to identify the magnitude of the spiritual
conflict we are engaged in. The battles we fight are colossal and address
deadly concerns. God calls on us to decisively utilize our spiritual armor in
our struggles with Satan and his evil followers. We must not delay putting on
our spiritual armor; this lag can and will cause a mighty assault on our very
souls. We are prepared to stand against Satan and his evil army when we have
made all necessary preparations for battle. The attack Satan perpetrates on us
comes from all directions and at any given moment of our lives. It is an
attempt to disrupt Christians from our impact on the world.
