Psalm
100:3 Know that
the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
As
individuals from the fallen human race, there are sure things that we as a
whole need to be aware of. We must realize that the unparalleled sovereign God
and preeminent leader of all is the Lord himself. We must recognize that He is
the incomparable creator of the universe and everybody in it and that He is the
one who framed and formed us in the first place. It was God who made us and not
us! Moreover, we who have confided in Christ as our Lord and Savior ought to
realize that we are His people and the sheep of His flock. As His
blood-purchased children, we are to submit ourselves as being dead to our sins
and alive to our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.
There are undeniable biblical truths
that should be so much a part of our spiritual being that we do not have a
shadow of a doubt or uncertainty of their genuineness: 1) God's sovereign rule.
2) His goodness and grace to all. 3) all people and nations must elevate and
praise His holy name. 4) those saved by grace must foster an assured knowledge
of Christ Jesus and His work on our behalf. It is through God's love, grace,
and mercy that our Savior, Christ Jesus, came into this world to save sinners
such as we are.
In Christ is all the fullness of
God. As His people, we should realize that we are being built up into a
heavenly Temple so that in time to come, the heavenly host will proclaim the
exceeding great riches of His grace and kindness toward us (the Church) and
authorities in the heavenly places!
The song of all people on earth
should resonate with praise and thanksgiving to the Triune God from whom we are
all blessed. It is through God's love and grace, that he sent a Savior, whom
God promised from the world's creation (Genesis 3:15). We can all rest
peacefully at night knowing Jesus came, lived a perfect life, and then allowed
himself to be sacrificed on the Cross so that we might know eternal life. We
can encourage one another in the truth that His grace and mercy saves us
through our faith in Him and enjoy complete freedom from all condemnation.
As His people, we should rest
assured that we are being built up into a heavenly Temple so that for eternity,
God will proclaim His transcending riches of grace and eternal life throughout
the vastness of Heaven. Those of us who have been washed clean by the precious
blood of Jesus will sing and proclaim his great love, grace, and mercy for
eternity, along with the unknown number of the host of angelic beings.
