John 6:32-33 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
In our human nature, we often
seek satisfaction in the things of this world. We strive for success, wealth,
relationships, and recognition, believing these will fill our hearts' void.
However, these pursuits, while not inherently wrong, are temporary and
fleeting. They can never truly satisfy our deepest longings. Jesus made this
very point when He told the crowd not to work for food that decays but for food
that prevails through eternal life.
Jesus, as the Bread of Life,
offers an enduring and eternal satisfaction. When we partake of this Bread,
believe in Him, and accept Him into our lives, he fills us with a contentment
that this world cannot offer. This satisfaction is not dependent on our
circumstances or achievements; its roots are in the love, grace, and promises
of God that never change and are everlasting.
The
Fulfillment of Christ also tells of a profound, meaningful relationship with
Him. It is not about a religious process or following a set of rules. It is all
about enjoying a personal relationship with Christ Jesus, walking with Him
every day, and finding our joy and gratification in Him. When we want this deep
relationship with Jesus, we will discover that our aspirations and urgencies
are parallel with His. We begin to desire the things of God more than we seek
the things of this world. We find gratification and fulfillment in His
presence, His Holy Word, and His great love.
The Fulfillment of Christ is
also available to everyone, regardless of background or past. Jesus said this
invitation is open to all hungry and thirsty seeking fulfillment and purpose.
Jesus is ready to welcome them, to fill them with His love, and to satisfy
their deepest longings. Moreover, this belief is a continuing voyage. Just as
we must eat physical food daily to sustain our bodies, we must continually
nourish our souls with the Bread of Life. This process means continually
turning to Jesus, trusting Him, and finding our satisfaction in Him. It means
letting go of our attempts to find fulfillment in the things of this world and
instead finding our fulfillment in Him.
Finally,
this invitation to believe is open to everyone. Jesus says, "Whoever comes
to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be
thirsty." There are no prerequisites and no qualifications. It doesn't
matter who you are, where you come from, or what you've done. Jesus' invitation
is open to all. All we need to do is accept it, go to Him in faith, and find
the satisfaction our souls are longing for.
Let us always choose to surrender ourselves to him and eat
the Bread of life that will never leave us hungry. As we keep Jesus at the
center of our lives and ensure that all we do revolves around him, we will find
that our problems will find their solution in Him.
