Special Thanksgiving Message (By Linda Shortt)
Good
morning, everyone! Today, we celebrate a very important holiday with family,
friends, and loved ones. This holiday is different from most because it causes
us to think of what we are thankful for, not what kind of gift we want to get
or give, and it gives us occasion to think back on this year and remember the
goodness of God and the people in our lives. I am most grateful for my Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ. Without Him, I would not be where I am today. He has been
merciful where I did not deserve mercy and patient where we did not merit
patience. Like everyone else, I have faltered in my walk with the Lord, yet He
still loves me and shows me enduring patience and kindness.
When
I think of the times when my faith was weak and my daily walk with Him caused
Him grief, He remained faithful and always led me to where He wanted me to be.
He, unlike us, remains steadfast and unmovable, always ready to lift me and
carry me on His shoulders. He knew when my heart wasn’t in tune with Him, yet
he showed patience beyond human understanding. As I prepare to be with family
on this special holiday, I hope that I will not be uncaring or unsympathetic to
the needs of others, That the Lord might use me to be a blessing to someone in
need and show forth the Love of Christ.
I am
so blessed to have a wonderful husband who serves the Lord and allows himself
to be used in helping others. I am thankful to be a part of Pioneer Baptist
Church and have a great church family. Pastor Ron and I wish each of you a
blessed Thanksgiving and a wonderful day with your families and
