Psalm 14:1-2 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. (Romans 3:10-12)
There is much evil happening around us in the world: human
trafficking, drug abuse, and just the utter wickedness in the world. There are
many concerns of people today: nuclear war, the rising crime rate in many
cities today, as well as muggings, street crime, murders, robberies, and the
list could go on. The evil that plagues the streets of almost every city in our
country can weigh on people’s hearts. We find broken homes, broken hearts, and broken lives at nearly every turn today. Furthermore, the Bible tells us that we can
expect the evil in the world to get worse before it gets better. This trend
will continue until Jesus returns to take His children home.
This verse reflects on the evils that the world has grown
accustomed to. David writes the words that a fool claims in their hearts that
God does not exist. In the eyes of David, the fact that God does not exist was
one of the most foolish things a human could consider. We should share David’s
sentiment because God does exist; God does reward those who seek after Him with
all their hearts. minds, bodies, and souls. From the creation of this world,
God has always had His hand in His creation. God’s plan allowed salvation for
all who accept Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior. As God’s children, those
who have accepted Christ Jesus and placed their faith and trust in him and not
the world will witness the final chapter.
As Christians, we must not allow the evils of this world to
distract us in a manner that we might doubt God’s existence. God is always
there in every aspect of our lives, every step we take. He is right there, in
the form of the Holy Spirit, leading, guiding, and directing our every step. As
God’s children, we should always share His Word, love, grace, and mercy in all
we are and do. This action does not mean we should preach the gospel to
everyone we encounter. We share the gospel in the way we live our lives. When
we reflect on the love of God through our actions, the world will know that
there is something special there, which will cause others to want to know more
about God and the gospel of Christ Jesus.
Throughout the world, there are Christians and unsaved
people who need the encouragement that can come only from the power of God. The
process is straightforward and uncomplicated: share God’s Word, share God’s
love, and be a witness for Christ Jesus in all we do and say. Across this
world, some Christians need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can
provide. We should focus on helping Christians find encouragement, develop
stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians accept Jesus Christ as
Savior.
