Leviticus 17:11 For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life.
Jesus's Blood flows through the body of Christ, allowing
Christianity to thrive. Blood surges through God's Word just as it does through
the veins of his followers and believers. It has been said: "Cut the Bible
anywhere, and it will bleed." God's Word speaks of the Blood multiple
times in almost every book in the New Testament. It is not a stretch to say
that the Blood is a significant theme in the Bible. The Gospel without the
Blood would be void and empty, and we would not know eternal life.
The early Christians comprehended the importance of the
Blood as witnessed in the sermon messages recorded by the early church leaders
in the New Testament, they all follow the same itinerary. They all well
comprehended that the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ Jesus was the
foundational tenet of the Gospel. The Bible speaks in massive volumes about the
importance of the blood sacrifice of Christ Jesus on the Cross of Calvary. The
Blood sacrifice of Jesus would have been for naught, except Jesus completed His
life void of any sin.
The sin nature passed down from Adam through a natural
father would make the sacrifice of Jesus null and void. The virgin birth was
critical and necessary because a biological father would have passed along the
sinful nature that followed all generations back from Adam (Matthew 1:23). The
world had never heard of a virgin birth, it was something no one had ever
imagined. The virgin birth assured that there would be no impurities in the
Blood of Jesus. When He gave His life on the Cross and spilled his perfect
Blood, it cleansed the lives of all who accept the sacrifice.
Sadly, today, many overlook the blood sacrifice of Jesus
and attempt to follow some misguided set of rules and regulations to gain
eternal life. Jesus made it clear that there is no other way to eternal life
besides accepting His sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary.
Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord,
Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does
the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that
day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive
out demons and, in your name, perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell
them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
If you have not placed yourself under the protection of the
blood of Christ don’t let the sun go down without accepting Jesus as your Lord
and Savior, placing your faith and trust in His blood sacrifice on the Cross of
Calvary.
