Bible Verse of the Day Saturday December 30th, 2023

2 Samuel 7:22 How great you are, Sovereign LORD! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears.

God is our creator, sustainer, and provider; we will never need anything if our faith and trust is in Him. There is only one true God; any other mention of a god is counterfeit and part of someone's imagination (1 Samuel 2:2). Our God is sovereign in His incredible power, goodness, grace, mercy, and all that He has done for us, as well as all that He will continue to do as long as day and night continue, as well as for all eternity.

In antiquity, many cultures were polytheistic, with a specific god for a particular task. In today's modern world, many still believe in other gods over the one true God of all creation. The difference is that all the other gods are dead and buried, and the one true God, who came to earth as a human, is alive today in heaven. When God rolled the stone away from the tomb that held the body of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, he walked out into the world for a short period until his ascension back to heaven. Some have the misconception that God rolled the stone away to let our Savior out of the tomb. However, Christ Jesus could have walked through the stone tomb where he lay for three days. God rolled the stone away to show the world we serve a risen Savior.

We serve the only true God; we serve a living God. We are reminded here in 2 Samuel 7:22 and throughout the Word of God that there is no one like Him and no other God except Him. We are also reminded in this verse of scripture that we have heard this with our ears. The truth of God's Word is being preached worldwide by many faithful followers of Christ Jesus. The Holy Bible is more available now than it has ever been in the history of the world. There is no excuse for anyone to say that God hides the truth of his Word from them. God stands ready, willing, and most able to bring all to repentance; he desires that no one should perish (2 Peter 3:9).

Suppose we find ourselves in a state of discouragement because of the unfaithfulness and profanity of this world. In that case, we can always count on God's incredible power and faithfulness to all His promises.
