John 10 7,9-10 7 Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.
Jesus came to the world to give us life. He didn't come to
bring us rules, judgment, fear, or work. Jesus came to provide us with life in
its complete form. While we know that this is promised to us when we go to be
with him for all eternity, John wants us to hear Jesus' promise to give us life
that begins now, plus eternal life. Those who place their faith and trust in
Christ Jesus will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that their souls are safe and
secure. Jesus is the guardian of the sheep. He saves his children from an
eternity separated from God; people will experience salvation from the means
and the end. This assurance from God results from the beauty of accepting
Christ into our hearts, souls, and our lives.
True believers of Jesus have freedom from guilt and the
wretchedness of the consequences of sin in our lives. True believers also
receive a divine operating system to live for Jesus daily. The pathway of all
holy fellowship and communion is through Christ. The life Jesus prepares for us
is abundant and filled with purpose and meaning. We can only enjoy this life by
surrendering our lives, hearts, minds, bodies, spirits, and souls to our Lord
and Savior, Christ Jesus.
Jesus' genuine believers enjoy not only everlasting life
but life in this world at its best. Jesus sacrificed His life on the Hill of
Calvary so that we might know a whole life here and now and an everlasting
life. The life that Jesus offers us is much more than just a lengthening of our
life here but a quality that earthly measurements cannot calculate. The
assurance of the abundant life Jesus offers all that surrender to him is in no
way connected with gold, silver, or any other earthly gain. The riches we can
receive from Jesus, here and in eternity, cannot be measured with worldly
standards or measurements.
