1 Thessalonians 3:13 May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.
Paul was profoundly apprehensive about the spiritual
welfare of all those who trusted Christ Jesus for salvation. His first epistle
to the Christians at Thessalonica included critical information for their
spiritual growth. He prayed constantly for the followers and believers in
Christ at Thessalonica.
Paul yearned that the Lord would build up these dear
saints, fortify their inner person, and establish each firm in the faith.
Paul's desire for the followers of that day and us today as well was that all
believers endure blameless in their walk and holy in their manner before God
the Father on that magnificent day when Christ Jesus returns to build His
kingdom on earth.
The Apostle Paul had received encouraging information about
the believers in Thessalonica from Timothy, who bestowed good news concerning
their emerging faith and the spiritual fruit of love they now bore for God and
others. Paul was delighted that these Christian converts stood firm in their
faith and grew in grace. And so, we know from his writings Paul praised God for
their spiritual development. Paul was also comforted by his profound affection
for the followers and believers in Christ, which was, in turn, reciprocated
with fond memories of Him. Followers of that day and us today, as well as all
believers, are found both blameless in their walk and holy in their conduct
before God the Father on that magnificent day when Christ Jesus returns to
build His kingdom on earth.
However, there will always be room for spiritual growth.
Consequently, Paul yearned to see them again to strengthen their trust in
Christ Jesus, increase their spiritual understanding, and expand their devotion
to God even more. Consequently, Paul wrote that he not only celebrated before
our God on their account but continued praying most intently, night and day,
that he might return to them so any deficiencies to perfection might fill up
what was lacking in their faith.
1 Corinthians 1:7-8 Therefore you do not lack any spiritual
gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. He
will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the
day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
