1 Peter 1:8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,
Did God decide for some to experience salvation and others not to be saved? Did Jesus sacrifice His life on the Cross just for those that God had hand-picked? (This theory is known as limited Atonement). By no means! God's Word shows us that Christ Jesus died on the Cross for all and that God does not want any person to die and spend eternity in Hell. God knew full well that all Humankind would sin, which would require a plan of salvation. God planned to take on human form, come to earth, live a perfect, sinless life, and then give his blood as a sacrifice for the sins of all people. He did this in the form of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.
Scripture shows us that Christ
Jesus died for all and that God does not want any to die and go to Hell. God
knew that Humankind would sin and that we would need a way of escape from what
we deserve, which is Hell. So, he knew that He would have to make a way for us
to experience salvation, and that way would be through Christ Jesus. God knows
who will experience salvation and who will not because He knows everything, but
He does not determine that. Each person must decide for themselves.
Praise be to the God and
Father of our Lord Christ Jesus! In his boundless mercy, he has given all a new
birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Christ Jesus from the dead
and into an inheritance that can never die, decay, or diminish. Because of
God's love, in and through Christ Jesus, all people who, through faith, are
safeguarded by the power of God until the coming of salvation revealed in the
last days.
No matter how bad life may
get, there is still hope because we have the assurance that Jesus died for the
world's sins, that Jesus died for us, and that God accepted His sacrifice.
There is more certainty to life than death and taxes; there is eternal life.
This promise has given us spiritual life and hope in this world of something
permanent. Jesus once said, "Because I live, you also will live.”
The more we know the Lord
Jesus, the more we love Him. Our love for our spouses did not begin before we
met them. Some believe in love at first sight, while others say it does take
some time. However, no matter the case, both scenarios occurred after we met,
not before.
A miracle occurred in that
multiplied millions of people have fallen in love with Christ Jesus without
ever laying eyes on Him. Comparatively, very few people saw Him during the
short 33 and a half years He walked among humans on earth, yet many thousands
have laid down their lives for Him. When we employ God's provision in our
lives, the result is a beautiful love affair between God and ourselves.
Believers in Christ Jesus don't base their belief on their theoretical
knowledge but on the person of Christ. However, we will never know the person
of Christ without God's Holy Word.
