2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness,
If
you do not own a Bible, do all within your resources to procure one. It is the
world's most fantastic book. It took longer to write this book than any other
book known to humankind, and it embodies some of the oldest writings the world
has ever known. It has been translated into more languages than any other book
and is the first ever printed. The Bible's impact on the world is superior to
any other book, and it has the power to change lives. While other writings
may claim our verse of the day, only the Bible has the substantiation necessary
for confirmation.
For
example, the Bible came into being through over 40 writers on three continents
in three different languages over 1,500 years. Some of these individuals
were kings, some were prisoners, some were prophets, some were scribes, some
were physicians, some were shepherds, some were scholars, and some were fishermen.
They were from all walks of life, yet the world has one complete book when one
puts all their writing together.
Not one single book of the Bible is
all-embracing without the completed work, and its entirety is unfinished
without every single book. Together, it has a thesis, a narrative, a variance,
a culmination, and a supposition. It is the longest thread of thought woven
into the fabric of history. The Bible writers wrote on many of the most
controversial topics facing the world at the time in history, yet all their
writings harmonized. There is not one clash or contradiction in all they have
to say.
Their writings refer to the disciplines
of science, history, geography, and topography, and the testimonials are
amazingly accurate in all cases. Archaeologists often employ the Bible as a
reference book and have come to place great value on its dependability and
consistency. In science, the Bible writers often wrote beyond the confines of
the human knowledge of their time, and the world discovered later that their
declarations were correct.
In history, the bible writers often
recorded events that had not yet occurred. This recording of historical events
before they occur is prophecy.
These were not only guesses and broad general statements. They involved foretelling hundreds of episodes in
detail of major and minor events not fulfilled until hundreds of years after the
writings.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 However,
as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what
no human mind has conceived” the things God has prepared for those who love
him— these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The
Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
