Bible Verse of the Day Friday December 25th (Christmas Day) 2020

Christmas: A Day to Contemplate God's Love

John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

God has given us the most unique and special gift that anyone could ever receive. Even though we are all sinners and none of us have any righteousness on our own (Romans 3:10 & 23), Jesus gave His life to pay a debt for us. that we could never pay (Ephesians 2:4-10). Through these verses of scripture, we can clearly see that we receive our salvation freely through the grace of God, not because of anything that we might ever do.

Our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus grants the gift of eternal life to a lost world that will never be able to save themselves. God gives us this most special gift out of love for humanity and no other reason. A most remarkable aspect of this is that Christ Jesus knew us before the world's foundations were put in place (Ephesians 1:4). Additionally, God could see ahead to the Cross of Calvary long before the world began. This day we will all receive beautiful gifts from our loved ones and friends. What a blessing that will be for the receiver of these gifts and the giver.

However, the world does not make anything that does not wear out, and soon after we receive or give these gifts, we will forget about them. There is a massive difference in the gift that God offers us, we will always remember His blessing, and it will never wear out. As the years go by, this special gift from God will become sweeter and sweeter, and the salvation this gift brings will become brighter and brighter. There are so many aspects of this special gift from God that there is not enough room in this writing to cover them all. One last attribute of God's unique gift that we will mention here is His Holy Word. We can spend our entire lives reading and studying the Bible and never find the end of the road of our study.

God's Word is the most incredible love story ever written, for it is His plan of salvation through Christ Jesus. The Old Testament from the beginning words of Genesis to Malachi's final sentence is about the promise of the coming Messiah; the New Testament is the birth, life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Christ Jesus, the true Messiah, the savior of the world. Additionally, it tells the beautiful story of the spread of the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Closing with a Revelation of what is to come when Jesus comes back for His children and come back He will!

Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven " (Acts 1:11).
