Bible Verse of the Day Saturday February 6th 2021

1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

As children of God, as believers and followers of Christ Jesus, as born again washed in the blood saved sinners, we are from God. We are part of His Royal Family, heirs to the kingdom along with Christ Jesus (Romans 8:17). We are indwelled with God's Holy Spirit since we are of God and saved by the blood of Jesus; thus, the one in us is greater than the one in the world, which is Satan. There will be many winds of false doctrine that blow through our lives every step of the way, false teachers, and false prophets. This verse reminds us that we have the power to overcome the influence of these workers of Satan, these wolves in sheep's clothing because of the one in us. 

There is a correspondence between God's people and God's truth; it is called the Bible, God's Holy Word. In it you will find a beautiful plan that has been in place since the dawn of time. The wonderful and exquisite truth about this plan is that it includes you and me. God has a mission for every one of His Children, and He will reveal this to us if we are in tune with the leading, guiding, and direction of the Holy Spirit within us. 

Satan most certainly does not want all of God's children to find out what God wants them to do because that would put a twist and bend in his plan of attempting to discredit God. Satan will go after all of us; however, he will have an easier time with the Christians who are not familiar with God's Word and, consequently, do not know what God's will is for their lives. Satan will attempt to try to get us to live and think independently of the Bible. Once he has a person thinking and moving in that direction, he has them on his evil team. Satan is promoting this theme because humans think they are in control of their own lives; some worldly singer ones had a song that said, "I did it my way." There is only two ways, God’s way, and Satan’s way, we are either moving in a direction towards God, through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit or Satan is in control of our lives. When someone in the world adamantly rejects this concept, Satan sneers and gets a tighter grip on their lives.

The only way we will ever gain the victory that Christ Jesus died on the Cross to bring us is if we allow the revelation of God to be the ultimate guiding light of our lives. Without the light of Christ Jesus guiding our way, Satan will cause sin to blind us to the truth (2 Corinthians 4:3-4).

We will not ever be able to live a victorious Christian life through our superior intelligence or because of our supposable religious knowledge. We will only know and experience victory over Satan and sin when we put our faith and trust in our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, using the Bible to allow us to understand and comprehend the truth of God's Word. Satan is the prince of this world who is against God and mounting a campaign to discredit the truth of God's Word. 

No matter how many world poets and singers tell us we should do it our way, the truth is the power to escape the bonds and chains of slavery to sin is not us, it is only in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit within us.
