Daniel 2:21-22 He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.
Contrary to the false opinions of those who believe that human beings control the world, God is in total control of all humanity's history. God set in motion the plan for His creation long before He ever created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). God alone sets up kings and kingdoms, and He alone brings them down. In His sovereign plan, God will lead humanity to its climax. To those seeking His knowledge and wisdom, He will open their spiritual eyes and spiritual ears and allow them to know and apply the truth of His Holy Word to their lives.
Our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, said that He was the light of the world, and in Him, there are no shaded areas of knowledge and wisdom (John 8:12). The world teaches through the self-help gurus that power and wisdom come from inside of ourselves. These well-meaning but false teachers will tell us that we can find all the energy we will ever need if we will but believe in ourselves. However, God's Word begs to differ, the truth is all power, wisdom, and gifts come from God, not in and of ourselves (Exodus 31:3).
Like Bezalel, who God gave the knowledge, understanding, and skills to build the Tabernacle in the wilderness (Exodus 31), He will empower us to carry out the task that He has set before us. Consequently, any boasting we do should be boasting in the Lord (1 Corinthians 1:31). God will make known to followers and believers in Christ Jesus His promises, pledges, and assurances (Psalm 25:14).
The faithful followers and believers in Christ Jesus will not stumble around in the darkness but dwell in the light. The darkness epitomizes evil; light symbolizes the truth of God's Holy Word. God's children are filled with the Light of Christ Jesus because the Holy Spirit of God lives within the hearts, minds, bodies, and souls of all who have trusted Him as their Lord and Savior. The closer we become to Christ Jesus, the stronger our relationship with God becomes and the more of Himself God will reveal to us. The more we surrender to God, the more complete the filling of His Holy Spirit will become. When that occurs, our faith will produce freedom from fear, and faith always drives out fear.
