1 Corinthians 10:11-12 These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come. So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!’
We, as Christians should read these verses over and over again. Read them until we understand the love God has for you and me. When the children of Israel placed their faith and trust in God, they succeeded; however, when they turned away from God and put their dependence in the world, they were defeated by their enemies.
God led His True Prophets to record and preserve these events for our warning, reproach, and spiritual and moral growth. God keeps His Word because it is His revelation to us. Contrary to some worldly belief, it is through God's Holy Word that He speaks to us. Everything That God has to tell us we will find in The Bible. The writers of the Bible, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, recorded these events. They also recorded God's revelation as given to them by the Holy Spirit.
They did so for our caution and warning, and they did so to reveal to us God's plan of redemption through Christ. The Bible, because it is God's Word, leads to life; why? Because it leads us directly to Jesus. God loved us so much He sent His only begotten Son, Christ Jesus our Lord, to live and die for us! We are reconciled to God through our faith and trust in Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
God loves us so much He preserved His Word that we may learn from those who came before us. God supernaturally and divinely inspired the writers of the Bible through the Holy Spirit. He did so for us to learn and take to heart that one most relevant Godly principle, that it is through Jesus we have salvation. Moreover, by Jesus, we stand and cannot be defeated.
The follower and believer in Christ Jesus that falsely believes that he or she has arrived is being manipulated by Satan and his followers to fall hard. When we are on the mountain top is when we are most susceptible to an attack of Satan. The higher we see ourselves, the farther the inevitable fall is going to be. Elijah was on the mountain when he defeated the prophets of Baal. The following day he found himself running away from the threats of Jezebel, crushed and disheartened. In one day, he went from courageousness to timidity.
Knowing without Jesus we fall and find ourselves overcome by the world. So, take heart; all things are possible through Christ who strengthens us (Matthew 19:26).
