Bible Verse of the Day Saturday April 24th 2021

Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

As we progress in our sanctification process, growing spiritually in Christ Jesus, we will begin to realize that God controls our lives as complete as He has total control over the universe. As followers and believers in Christ Jesus, we are in partnership with God, working together with Him to complete the mission He has planned for us. Christ Jesus creates a desire in His followers and believers to be both willing and eager to carry out our Father's work (Luke 2:49). If we will but surrender to the Will of God for our lives, He will work in us and through us in His unique and incomparable way.

God is working according to an eternal plan that was established before worldly time began. God's plan will not be slowed or stopped by any human being, He will work through us, or He will work on us. There are road signs along the highways and byways in our country that read "Highway under construction." We were designed and built according to God's plans, but like the highways are continually under Construction, God is always working on our lives (Philippians 1:6).

Once we begin our new life in Christ Jesus God will initiate a progressive development in our lives that will continue until we are taken home to be with the Lord. God will continue to resolve broken relationships, and in the interim, He may have to carve, scrape, sand and buff us. God will continue refining us, leading up to us having the humility exampled by the earthly life of Christ Jesus. His work will continue, and then one day we will realize that we are not as self-centered as we were before we surrendered our lives to Christ Jesus. We will also come to the point in our lives that the pride that we so tenaciously held on to for years will begin to fade with time.

If we give in to the temptations of Satan and rebel against God and His plan for our lives, we may need breaking like a wild horse. God will break our physical bodies or our spirit, but His plan will not be thwarted. With some, God's work is still going on but has slowed to a snail's pace. In this case God will remove the obstruction from our midst that is delaying His divine plan for our lives. There are no coincidences in the life of a believer, God has total control, and nothing takes Him by surprise. Furthermore, God does not wait for us to put our seal of approval on His plan, no earthly power can interrupt what God has set in motion.

The good news is that the creator of all in heaven and all on earth wants us to be partners with Him in His plan for humanity. God does not need our help, but because He loves us so much, He wants us to be a part of His eternal plan. The Father of a 5-year-old son that is building a shed in his backyard does not need his little boy's help. The Father gives his 5-year-old son a tool and lets him be a part of building the shed. It is the same way with God, he does not need us, but in his great love, He will furnish us with the necessary tools and allow us to be part of His building project.  C.A. Fox said, "Climb on, and you will find the correcting, the chastening, the cleansing, the calming of the deep affection of God."
