Bible Verse of the Day Tuesday May 25th 2021

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because He cares for you.

There are moments in our lives that the peace that we know we should have escapes us. Then other times, the answers that we seek never seem to come our way. When this happens, we get to the point that we do not want to do anything, and we become filled with isolation, anguish, and sorrow. We grapple with connecting with those around us that care about us; however, these connections seem too problematic. When we find ourselves deep into this valley of darkness, the question becomes: When will this end? Will I ever see a time that I feel complete and unbroken again?

Of all the great and wonderful promises that we have from God, no assurance would indicate that our lives will always be free from complications and struggles. God has never assured us that every day would be flawless and that we would never go through some form of trial or tribulation; in fact, the opposite is true (James 1:2). The promise that our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus has made to us is that "He would never leave or forsake us" (Hebrews 13:5; Deuteronomy 31:6), and that He would never place more on us than we could handle (1 Corinthians 10:13) and that He will always provide a way out.

God's great love, grace, and mercy that He shows towards us include His faith in us; He is aware that we need Him. He knows that we will turn towards Him in our time of need, maybe not day one, or even two, three, four, or even day five. However, He knows what is inside of our hearts, and hearing our groans and sensing our tears; He will reach out to us, bring us the comfort and peace that He has for us so that when we are ready, we can know a peace that goes beyond all human understanding (Philippians 4:7).

This gospel truth is something that Satan does not want us to believe; he wants us to think that God is disinterested in us. We cannot cast our anxiety over to God in the consensus of being released from our trials and tribulations, but we can transfer the weight of them over to God. Satan and all of his evil followers want us to think that some of our problems are too trivial for God to be interested in, and we should handle them ourselves.

There are times that we might fall for that trap, saying, "Since I am a mature Christian, I should be able to work this out on my own." Then we look back and realize that we have been dealing with this same problem for the past five years. No matter how insignificant or trivial we deem an issue to be, God has told us to cast all our anxiety on Him, not just some of it. The formula is simple; if we want some of the peace that God has for us, we should cast some of our anxiety on him. However, if we want all of the peace God has promised us, then we will have to cast all of our anxiety on Him.
