Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
The people of the earth and
humanity, specifically, have, since the beginning of time, been searching for
the significance of life itself, for goodwill, tranquility, and harmony among
all people. This search is also for affection and well-being, wealth, the
fountain of youth and beauty, and the impeccable dwelling place of eternity and
thriving contentment. Humankind is always searching for redemption from the
immoralities and vices of this fallen world in which we live.
Every human being that has
ever inhabited this world or will ever live desperately wants to break free
from the sorrow and misery that will always be a byproduct of this lost, dark,
and dying world in which we inhabit.
Human beings beginning with Adam
and Eve were created in God’s image. Therefore, God is perfect in all aspects
with an eternal characteristic that embodies all that we as human beings will
ever crave or yearn for. God created us in a perfect condition, but sin entered
into the picture when our first parents ate the forbidden fruit.
There is no other way that the
world, by and large, and each one of us as sinners can ever come back into a
sweet fellowship with the only wellspring of love, peace, and the true light of
life, other than the Lord Christ Jesus. Most people in this world are seeking salvation without the perceived drudgery of turning away from sin and turning
towards God, in and through Christ Jesus.
People of this world are
seeking eternal life with its untold beauty without having to acknowledge that
we were all born sinners (Romans 3:23; 3:10). Most people of the world
are seeking self-exaltation all the while overlooking and disregarding the
glory of the Cross of Calvary. Most people of this world are looking for all
that this life offers and overlooking the traps and snares that Satan sets for
people every step we take. Satan will fool people into thinking that we do not
have to accept salvation on God’s terms, leading all that follow that path into
eternal Hell and the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:14).
When the early Church came into
being, most of its members had personally witnessed the beautiful miracles
performed by Jesus and had listened while He taught them of the glory of God
and eternal life. Many of them were present as He was nailed to the Cross and
rejoiced when he walked out of the tomb in which he was buried, three days
later. These early Christians were certain that Christ Jesus was truly the Son
of God and the long-awaited promised Messiah. Furthermore, they were certain
that in Him was eternal life, the truth, the way, and the light. They could do
nothing else but proclaim the good news of the Gospel of Christ Jesus to the
ends of the world (Acts 1:8).
There is a most critical question before us this day, as
modern-day Christians. Are we still willing to continue to spread the gospel of
Christ Jesus in our area of existence, and to a lost dark, and dying
world?
