Bible Verse of the Day Saturday July 31st 2021

Ephesians 5:13-14 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible —and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. This is why it is said: "Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."

Those that are without Christ Jesus in their lives loves the darkness, even while the true light shines around them. The light of Christ Jesus, who is the light of the World (John 8:12), will shine a light to expose their sins. As believers in Christ Jesus, we cannot be neutral when it comes to the darkness; we must disclose it for what it is. We do this by being exposed to the Holy Word of God through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The true Christian drives out the darkness by being a good reflector of the Light of Christ Jesus, not by denouncing the deeds or behaviors of the prince of darkness. We will not ever be able to win people over to Christ Jesus by unsympathetically reproaching their sins; we can only do that by turning on the light of the truth of the Word of God. When the light of Christ Jesus infiltrates a person’s heart, it dispels the darkness and brings with it a clearness of the truth of the Gospel. It will illuminate the darkness of sinfulness and show it for what it is.

As believers in Christ Jesus, we have been declared righteous through and because of the righteousness of Christ. We possess no righteousness of our own (Romans 3:10). As members of the Royal Family of God, we are to live our lives in the light of Christ Jesus and His love. We will then produce spiritual fruitfulness of the truth of the Word of God through the leading guiding and direction of the Holy Spirit. Consequently, God commands us to wake up from our spiritual slumber to life in the light of Christ Jesus.

Once we wake up and arise to walk in a newness of life, we will begin to grow spiritually in the love and grace of Christ Jesus. Once we come to Christ, we are not to fall into a life of a monotonous state of remaining in spiritual infancy, we are to experience daily growth. We are either growing spiritually every day or are reverting to spiritual infancy. There is no middle ground, no stagnant gridlock. There are only two options in this matter, we are either following the will of God for our lives, or we are outside of His will, moving towards the darkness.

As his faithful followers and believers, Christ Jesus calls us to shun any concession or conciliation in our walk with God, awake from our sleep, and allow the Light of Christ Jesus to reflect from all we say and do (Ephesian 5:8).

When the light of Christ pierces a person, it dispels the darkness and brings clarity to all we view. It will cause sin to appear as what it truly is.
