Bible Verse of the Day Saturday July 10th 2021

John 18:38 What is truth?" retorted Pilate. With this he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said, "I find no basis for a charge against him.

The question that found its way from the heart of Pilate to his lips was:  What is truth?” This query is a deep hidden, discerning searching that has been rooted within the hearts and souls of every human, from the beginning of time. Any and all substantiation that is found outside the Word of God will always break up and crumble into falsehoods, deceits, and fabrications. Any and all supposable evidence that is not embedded or established in the Gospel of Christ Jesus will be covered over in a mountain of misrepresentation. Using anything but the truth of the Word of God as a life’s foundation is somewhat like walking on a lake of thin ice. All of Satan’s lies, deceits and deceptions will be blown away while the truth of God’s Word will endure for eternity.

Once we surrender ourselves to the truth of God’s Word, we will have gained a clear advantage over those that are not walking in His light. Gleaning a clear understanding of the truth of the Word of God will have an enormous effect on our eternal souls in this life and in our eternal lives (1 Corinthians 3:11). God is most likely very well pleased when He sees one of His children’s faithfulness in walking in the truth of His Word (3 John 1:3-4).

No one can escape the harm and detriment from the effects of the sin in our lives. When Pilate asked: “What is truth,” he was asking the one that was the epitome and embodiment of truth. However, because Pilate was afraid of what the crowds might do, his fear condemned him to the confines of a spiritual prisoner. This travesty occurred while at the same instant the personified embodiment of truth was humbly standing in his presence.

The saddest aspect of all of this is that there are billions of people throughout the ages that have allowed fear to separate them from the truth of the Word of God. God loves all people (John 3:16) with a love that cannot be measured by human or worldly standards or measurements. The denial or unacceptance of this eternal truth is what Satan’s goal is for all people of the world. The truth of the Gospel of Christ Jesus because of His sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary is the only thing that can set us free from the bonds and chains of the lies of Satan (John 8:36; Galatians 5:1).

By an acceptance of Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior and placing our faith and trust in Him, instead of our own self-righteousness for our eternal life, we will be able to count ourselves among the few that will find the small gate at the end of the narrow road that leads to eternal life (Matthew 7:14).
