Bible Verse of the Day Friday September 10th 2021

Ephesians 3:16-19  I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

God's love is total; it reaches every space of our experience. The Love of God is vast; it covers the extent of our capability and still reaches out to the entire world. God's love is long; it continues the length of our lives, not only our natural lives but our eternal lives as well. God's love is high; it reaches the heights of our celebration and joy. God's love is deep; it reaches the depths of our disappointment, depression, and despair, and even death. So, when it seems like the world is crashing down around you, all its doors on you, and it starts to seem like you might be all alone, always keep in mind that you are never lost or alone in the Love of God. 

Paul is praying here not just for the Ephesians but also for all whose eyes rest upon these glorious words. With very few exceptions, Paul's prayers were for the spiritual well-being of other people. Even when he was being beaten, stoned, arrested, and run out of entire countries, his prayers were for all, that they would be strengthened and founded in God's love and able to know the great magnitude and scope that God's love extended too.

 "We are weak, but He is strong," The weak are rendered strong because of the Holy Spirit of God that dwells within us. I know I have said this so many times before, but it is something that we need to hear every so often. That is, the power of the Holy Spirit of God far exceeds any force known to humankind. We, as His children, have unlimited access to that power, but if we do not take advantage of it, we are like someone that dies of thirst while standing beside a clear river of pure water (2 Corinthians 12:9; Galatians 2:20).

Paul writes here that we may know that God's love goes far beyond the knowledge and wisdom of this world. This truth is not conjecture, guesswork, or supposition; it is not just something we feel, through our emotions, when the worship is good, this is something we know is accurate and true. The last line in this verse is the pinnacle and summit of the entire prayer. Filled with God's love is the greatest thing humankind can know. However, being filled with all the fullness of God goes beyond, mystifies, and bewilders the natural person.
