Bible Verse of the Day Thursday September 30th 2021

Psalm 141:2 May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.

Time is a valuable gift that we receive from God. Time is a gift that knows no discrimination, no matter who or where we are, we all receive the same amount of time daily. In each day, there are 24 hours, 1,440 minutes, and 86,400 seconds, and every one of them is a precious gift from God. Time is something that we all have felt like we did not have enough of at one time or another. There are some paradoxes attached to time. Time is free, it cost us nothing, but on the other hand, it is priceless. We can never own time, but we can spend it. The most important thing to remember about time is that you will never be able to get it back once you have lost it.

Although time is the most valuable gift given to us by God, prayer is the most valuable tool that God has allotted us to have. It allows us to kneel at the throne of God, to worship, praise, and thank Him for the most valuable gift of all, that is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.

When we first wake up in the morning, the first few minutes of the day can significantly impact how the rest of our day goes. But, if we get up, seemingly in a hurry to get to our daily chores and forget about our morning prayer, we have missed an opportunity that we will never get back. Other than when God slowed down time for Joshua in a battle, He has never allowed for any re-do’s or re-plays (Joshua 10:13).

Our morning prayers and our daily prayers are, as David recorded in Psalm 141, our worship and sacrifice to God. If we allow for time when we first awake and certain times during the day, stop our busy schedule and go to God in prayer, we will find that our days will go much smoother and be much more productive.

A man that had not prayed to God or even given God much thought for many years was out in his boat fishing when a sudden storm came up. He knew that his boat might not survive the storm, and he was about to die. So, he called out to God, he said,” Lord, I have not called on you for twenty years, and if you get me out of this storm, I will not call on you for another twenty years.” It is sad but true that so many people view prayer as an escape mechanism rather than a consistent, constant line of communication with God, who gave us all the talents and gifts we enjoy and the time we experience.
