2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.
This Sunday celebrates the
fourth and final Advent of this Christmas Season. Advent is the time of year
that believers and followers in Christ fervently await the celebration of the
birth of Jesus. We will Share Scripture, pray together and reflect on how we
can develop a sense of holy expectation of the final Advent, His second coming.
This fourth Sunday of Advent, we contemplate the peace that comes into our
hearts through Christ Jesus. This 4th Advent Sunday, we center our hearts,
minds, and souls on the "Lord of peace" who came from heaven in the
figure of a baby, born in a manger.
God realizes that all of His
children fight daily battles against fear! Satan wants to cobble us, to cause
us to react instead of carefully responding, thus stealing our joy and peace.
The peace we know through Christ Jesus God has given us so that we might live
lives filled with joy. So, during this Advent season, let us all pray that God
will bring a sense of peace to our lives that human reasoning cannot explain.
In the year 2021, our country
has faced much turmoil and chaos. Consequently, the peace that God offers us is
something that we so desperately need. Let us all pray that God's Holy Spirit
will usher in a time of peace and joy as we await the second coming of our Lord
and Savior Christ Jesus.,
This season of Advent is an
encouragement for all God's Children to place the fear Satan is trying to
thrust upon us in our rearview mirrors. Let us not get drawn into the
hustle-bustle of Commercial Christmas and lose focus on what Christmas is all
about. The Christmas season is a time for us to reflect on the Birth of our
Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. We should never lose focus on why we have
eternal life; it is only through Christ Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross of
Calvary. We should also focus on the last and final Advent when Jesus comes
back to this earth to take His Children home.
The fourth Advent Candle is
referred to as the "Angel Candle" and represents peace. This name
comes from the fact that the angels announced that Jesus came to bring peace
(Luke 2:14). This fourth and final advent celebration stands to remind us that
Christ Jesus will bring peace to our hearts and souls and the entire world if
we will but place our faith and trust in Him.
