Ephesians 1:6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
The grace of God is not something that God begrudgingly gives, but He does it with a love that worldly standards cannot measure, He freely floods our lives with His amazing grace. This love is an indication and an encouragement that all children of God are favored in His sight. We are the entities and recipients of His special and unique, loving thoughtfulness and devotion. We are the highest priority on His catalog of events in His Control over the universe.
Once a young boy was in a line, with his father, to shake the hand of the current President of the United States, Calvin Coolidge. The boy waited what seemed like to him to be an eternity, and as he got closer, he noticed that President Coolidge said something to each one that shook his hand. This young, impressionable boy was excited to see what the President would say to him. As he stood in front of the President, the child stuck out his little hand; President Coolidge grabbed his hand and said:” move along, son, I’m busy.”
That will never happen with our Father in Heaven because He is never too busy to spend time with a faithful servant, a follower, and a believer of Christ Jesus. Prayer is the most formidable spiritual tool we have on our tool belts; it allows us to kneel at the very throne of Almighty God. We can carry all our petitions to Him, and rest assured that He will listen, and more importantly, that He is in control and cares about His children. However, the most rewarding aspect of prayer is that we may, in His sight, worship and praise Him for all the blessings we have through Christ Jesus. The greatest one is Eternal Life, through the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus on the Cross of Calvary.
It is the responsibility of every follower and believer in Christ Jesus to glorify the grace and love of God. Grace is God’s endowment that cost us nothing, but our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, paid the ultimate price. Contrary to some worldly beliefs, we are not self-made people; God created us for His honor and His glory. Paul pointed this out in many of his letters in the New Testament (Romans 3:24; Romans 5:1; 1 Corinthians 15:10).
We are all unique people; God has blessed each with a special calling and a particular individual talent to carry out that calling. Although all the callings of God vary from person to person, from church to church, and from nation to nation, they are all based on one single mission. That mission is to lead as many people to Christ Jesus as possible. The time from the instant of one’s birth to one’s death is but a mist that comes for an instant and then disappears (James 4:14). In the short time we have here, we cannot afford to waste one moment in this ministry of Christ Jesus, that through His love and grace He has allowed us to take part in (Acts 1:8).
