Bible Verse of the Day Wednesday February 16th 2022

Psalm 119:93 I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life.

Too many people see the Bible as a pleasing and agreeable companion to make them feel better when things are not going their way. In essence, this uses the Bible as an agreeable source of verification of our plans and schemes. They have a few verses in the Bible that will comfort them and assure them that their chosen path is the right path. The Bible is not a collection of rules and regulations comparable to a buffet where one can use what they want and leave the rest. The Bible is a complete communication from God to all people so that all can come to a saving knowledge of the love and Grace of God (1 Timothy 2:4). The Bible, being a completed work, every word, verse, chapter, and book in the Bible is God-breathed and necessary for a life centered around Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

The Holy Word of God is the only way to find true spiritual life in our walk in this world and find the true path to eternal life. God's word is also the only way to discover the path from spiritual death to spiritual and eternal life (John 3:16). The Psalmist saw before him an endless shower of blessings, and so he could never forget the work that made such a change in his life. Likewise, once we open our hearts, minds, and souls to God's Word and allow it to alter our lives in a way that we could have never before seen or even realized, we will never forget the impact God's Holy Word will have on our lives. Therefore, it is also essential that we share the life-changing bearing and influence it can have on every life in the world around us.

God's word is eternal, everlasting, and secure, as is evident because it "stands firm" in Heaven (Psalm 119:89-91). As long as we always remember the principles, teachings, and guidelines of the Bible, it will be the solid rock that we may always stand on. It will always be the "sword of the spirit" that we use to battle Satan when he comes after us, as he will do daily. This world will attempt to offer us shiny things that it will claim are good and needful, but all of this is temporary and will eventually turn to dust. On the other hand, God's Word is unlimited in what it has to extend and advance to us, as well as being eternal (Matthew 24:35).

The Word of God produces in us life eternal because God's Word is itself alive and eternal so that it will speak to us. Some say that the Bible is old-fashioned and not practical or useful for us today. It is not old-fashioned or modern; it is God's spoken word to the world, preserved and protected in Heaven, with and by God Himself, for eternity.
