Psalm 34:6 This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.
I am sure growing up, we all heard at one time or another, “not now, I’m too busy,” and if the truth is known, most of us had said that to our children when we were raising them. Most all of us have told someone in our lives, “I’m sorry, but I just don’t have the time right now,” then on second thought; we know we should be there and help our friends and loved ones, so we respond to their cry for help. But our most gracious and loving Heavenly Father, the creator of all in Heaven and Earth, is never too busy for any of us (Psalms 34:15-17).
God who controls the universe is never too busy to reach down and deliver a unique touch when we need it. There’s a line in an old southern gospel song, “He cares when your head is bowed low,” and there will be times that we all have those days that our head might be bowed low.
Our second thought usually is to help when we are asked; it is not a second thought of our Lord and Savior; it is His first thought. God is never bothered when we reach out to Him; on the contrary, He loves to supply our every need (Matthew 7:11). However, God is concerned when we feel distressed or anguish (Psalms 34:18).
In 2008 a major country music artist released a song called “God must be Busy,” That is how the world believes when they see the hurt and evil around us in this day and age. God is not responsible for the evil in the world; humans are. In the days of Noah, God said every thought of the human heart was evil (Genesis 6:5). People always question why God allowed that hurricane, tsunami, or tornado to destroy so much and bring devastation to many lives. In much the same manner, God allows evil people to commit evil on each other; furthermore, he will enable the earth to manifest the repercussion that sin has brought to the world (Romans 8:19-21)
You will hear of many beautiful miracles during these natural disasters that saved countless lives. During these times, people’s priorities change from “I just don’t have the time” to find the time to help where they are needed. Many ministries of Christ are at work amid all the suffering and grief to counsel and pray with people, and most importantly, to lead people to the knowledge of the Saving Grace of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.
God causes many great things to come out of these disasters (Romans 8:28). God is never too busy to reach his hand down and lift our spirit when we feel low.
