Bible Verse of the Day Tuesday March 29th 2022

 John 1:33-34 And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Chosen One.”  (Isaiah 42:1)

John the Baptist was unaware that God the Father had appointed Jesus as the promised coming Messiah until God revealed it to Him (John 1:31). The idea that his cousin was the Messiah, the world's savior, must have come as quite a shock to John. The one who sent John to Baptize was the Father. There was no indiscriminate insertion of John's thought pattern; it was a God-sent revelation. God blessed John to be the one who introduced Jesus to the world. John was on the verge of becoming the first witness to the Messianic era to the world. When John witnessed the Holy Spirit descend on Jesus, he knew for sure that Jesus was the true promised Messiah.

John witnessed to the people of his day who would not accept the fact that Jesus was the promised Messiah. Today we live in a world that will not accept the fact that Jesus is the Messiah, the savior of the world. Too many today want to believe that there is some work they can do to earn their place in Heaven. We live in a society where truth is relative, so many think that there is more than one truth. The truth is that Jesus is the only way to the Father; it is impossible to enter Heaven except through a personal relationship with Christ Jesus.

We have a distinct and unequivocal pronouncement of who Christ Jesus is and His crucial nature as God. We know that there is undeniable evidence in God's Holy Word because God said it. Satan will attempt to blind the eyes of the lost of this world to the truth. It is our duty, honor, and blessing to tell the world of the saving power of Christ Jesus; Jesus left us with that particular message when He ascended back to Heaven (Acts 1:8-9).
