Psalm 14:1 The fool says in his heart there is no God. They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one heaven of God at does good.
We will all experience a time in our lives when we raise our
fists in anger and curse the darkness. But unfortunately, both actions are
about as equally effective. However, saying there is no God in our hearts is
another story. To deprive heaven of God is to deny ourselves of God's love,
mercy, and grace that God has willingly bestowed on us all. There is
foolishness in the inclination that there is no creator in heaven and all on
earth. It is foolish to think that there is no creator of this earth's wonder,
beauty, power, and changing patterns. God is far greater than the sum of His
handiwork. Only a foolish person would deny that there is not a God.
When David penned this Psalm, he realized that all that deny
God or God's existence would fall into the category of fools. The meaning of
the word "fool" in the Hebrew language leans toward morality and not
people's intelligence. David was not referring to anyone that could not figure
God out; none will ever be able to do that.
The people that David was referring to are all who reject the
idea that there is a God. David also added that the fool that believes there is
no God believes it with not only their intellect but also their hearts.
These fools believe that some cosmic boom many years ago
began the process of evolution. I think some refer to this as the big bang
theory. The big bang theory makes as much sense as the "log Cabin' theory.
The Long Cabin theory says that if you would take a construction helicopter and
tie a bunch of logs under it. Then, fly the chopper up to some height and
release the logs; they would fall into a perfectly built log cabin. Anyone but
a fool would realize that is utter nonsense. Thus, anyone but a fool would say
the hands of God created the beauty, wonder, and magnificence of the world.
