Psalm 56:4 In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
There
is not much in the world where we can place our faith and trust. Very few
people have not experienced some form of hurt by a friend or family member who
has let us down. The world's ways are erratic, and things can quickly go wrong.
However, in this world of uncertainty, in our heartbreaks and disappointments,
there is one perpetual certainty, we can always trust God. Many people fear
change because of the unknown, but followers of Christ Jesus do not have to
worry about the future because God has us wrapped tightly in His arms. He is
the anchor that secures us in the roughest of storms and our protector in the
battles we must face every day. God's Holy Word is filled with His promises and
speaks of His protection in the darkest valleys we go through.
Many
followers of Christ Jesus appeal, pray, and implore God to bring us what we
already have in and through our faith in God. We have everything we need
through His divinity to live a satisfying life in God's sight. We have all we
need in this life through His Holy Word and the indwelling of His Holy Spirit.
Yet, we often fail to access the privileges and promises freely given us
according to God's strength and power. God raised Jesus from the dead and
seated Him at His right hand, so we are raised to live in the newness of life
in Christ.
We
have the victory that Jesus won on the Cross of Calvary. The victory is already
ours, and there is nothing that mere mortals can do to us to take that away. We
must be bold in our declaration of the power of God in the land of the living.
Many people today cannot understand the simplicity of the Gospel of Christ
Jesus. Satan has placed blinders on their eyes for him to control what they
see. As children of God, we must be good reflectors for the light of Christ
Jesus. Our reflector must be kept free of worldly debris so that the ones that
Satan has tried to influence will see that he is a liar and the father of lies
(John 8:44).
Let
us thank and praise God every day that we do not have to fear what the evil of
mere humans throws at us. Furthermore, praise God that we need not fear the
evil from Satan's demonic host. We do not have to fear either one when our
faith and trust in Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
