Bible Verse 0f the Day Saturday August 27th , 2022

John 20:21-22 Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." And with that, he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit.

Jesus had given His remaining followers the blessing of peace as they gathered with Him late on the first day of the week (John 20:19). It could be that He repeated and reemphasized this wonderful blessing of peace to calm their fears and devastation. When Jesus was bestowing this gift of peace, He was doing more than articulating His wishes for His people; he was bringing forth a declaration and was revealing and passing on an incredible and wonderful blessing. To have this peace with God meant He forgave our sins; it indicated that He shattered the bonds and chains of the slavery of sin. It was a clear message to all His followers and believers that he has removed our fears and our lives made eternal life possible.

There are too many great and beautiful blessings from God given to His children through Christ Jesus for us to count. One of the greatest blessings is the indwelling of God's Holy Spirit, which is part of every believer and follower of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit was the powerful force that directed Jesus while He was on this earth as a human being. The Holy Spirit was also the driving force for the early church as the Apostles and other leaders established God's church on earth.

Jesus passed the torch of evangelism to all who would accept Him as their Lord and Savior and place their faith and trust in Him. As God had sent Him, he was also sending us to continue the work of leading people to Christ Jesus that were lost and on their way to eternal separation from God in Hell for eternity. Jesus had previously prayed to the Father when His time had come that as the Father had sent Him, He was also sending His followers and believers (John 17:18).

The indwelling presence of Christ Jesus through the Holy Spirit renovates our identity into the ones sent to spread His gospel to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). We are all missionaries with the directive to preach the gospel to the world. Unfortunately, some get the misconception that a missionary is only one that ministers in a foreign land, but a missionary is anyone who claims and pronounces Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior and has received His Holy Spirit.

God the Father sent His one and only Son, Jesus, into this world to seek and save the lost. With this declaration of peace, he has commissioned us as missionaries. We are to bring as many as possible to a saving knowledge of Christ Jesus into the Royal Family of God.
