1 Corinthians 15:25-26 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
This verse is a rephrase from Psalm 110:1. The Apostle Paul painted a beautiful picture of our resurrected bodies in His first letter to the church at Corinth (1 Corinthians 15:52-54). We can find his quotation from Paul in Isaiah 25:8.
Craftsman
tools have been around for many decades and always have an unconditional
lifetime guarantee. When the device wears out, you can go to any Stanly Black
and Decker store (The Company that bought out Sears), and they will replace the
tool with no questions asked. We have an unconditional lifetime warranty on
life itself from our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. Once this body wears out,
when Jesus comes back to earth, we will receive a new body that will never wear
out. Until then, our old bodies will return to the dust they came from, and our
spirits will return to God in heaven (Ecclesiastes 12:7).
Christ
Jesus engaged three enemies, Satan, sin, and death. Jesus first defeated Satan
at His temptation in the wilderness. He then conquered sin at His crucifixion
and triumphed over death at His resurrection.
We
experience sadness at the grave of a loved one or friend at some time in our
lives. But, if you have not, then there will come a day that you will. We
undergo a time of grief and separation from those that have gone home to be
with the Lord. The Word of God associates death as an enemy of Christ Jesus.
Our Lord and Savior abhors death and the harm and separation it leaves in its
wake even more than we do. Therefore, it is a great and wonderful blessing to
know that death will no longer be a threat, and the children of God will know
nothing but eternal life forever with God.
