Philippians 2:9-11 Therefore, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
This verse starts with "therefore," consequently, we should understand what the word "therefore" indicates. Verse 8: "And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death — even death on a cross!" Therefore, because God the Son, Christ Jesus, submitted Himself to the most extreme depth of humiliation by going to the Cross, God the Father elevated Him to the highest standing of exaltation. This procedure encompassed the resurrection, ascension, and glorification of our Lord and Savior. Christ Jesus is the basis and foundation of true worship and praise. There is a positive way we will be able to gauge whether or not our worship and praise point to Christ Jesus, and that is the content of our music. Any music that does not have its emphasis and attention on some phase of the incarnation, substitutionary work on the Cross of Calvary, His blood sacrifice, His resurrection or ascension is purely emotional vacantness.
At the name of Jesus, every knee should bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should acknowledge that Christ Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. As His Children, as followers and believers in Christ Jesus, we enjoy a rare distinctiveness before God because of the reverence, value, and admiration the Father holds for the Son. As born again washed in the blood Believers in Christ Jesus, we have an exclusive character and individuality. When one does not honor and appreciate who they are in Christ Jesus, we discredit what Christ Jesus did for us on the Cross of Calvary. Any value or worth that we possess is in and through our relationship with our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.
Today, the name of Jesus has become somewhat taboo in secular existence. We cannot talk about Jesus in our public schools, except in His historical context, and at our workplaces, His name is mostly only used in a profane manner. Nevertheless, there is a day that in the name of Jesus, every tongue will confess that He is the true Messiah, the Son of God. On that day, every knee will bow at the mention of His name (Romans 14:11; Revelation 5:13-11).
If we surrender our lives totally and completely to Christ Jesus, giving Him our lives, our hearts, minds, bodies, and souls, it will bring about a blessing to our lives that previously we could not even imagine. But most importantly, it will bring joy to the heart of God and glory and honor to Him because of His decreed plan before the world's creation, to send His Son Jesus to save us from our sins, past, present, and future.
