Bible Verse of the Day Tuesday October 18th, 2022

Psalm 66:5 Come and see what God has done, his awesome deeds for mankind!

As followers and believers in Christ Jesus, we read in the scriptures that we should thank Him in all things (1 Thessalonians 5:18) and sing praises to His name (Psalm 68:4). Paul tells us in Philippians that we should bring our request to God in prayer with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6). We have been encouraged to rejoice always, pray continually and, in all situations, give thanks (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). In the Psalms, we learn that we should come to Him with praise and thanksgiving and worship Him with gladness and joyful songs (Psalm 100).

This verse in the 66th Psalm is an invitation for the entire world to witness the fantastic and awe-inspiring things God has done for all people of the world, placing their faith and trust in Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior. First, God forgives all our sins, which we cannot do for ourselves, nor can any human being do for us. Only by the blood sacrifice of Christ Jesus on the Cross of Calvary can we know the forgiveness of sin and, this way, have eternal life (John 10:10).

We do not have space or time in this writing or all the papers of humanity to list everything God has done for us, is continuing to do, and will always do for those who love Him and surrender their lives to Him. The writer of this Psalm is unknown, and the psalmist may have thought that some might not realize the splendid, exceptional, and remarkable things God had done for all humanity (Psalm 66:3).The great acts of God throughout history reveal and display His sovereign authority over the universe for all time and eternity. The parting of and the crossing of the Red Sea and the Jorden River demonstrates God’s power and control over all nations for all time (Joshua 2:9-11).

Christ Jesus, God in the flesh, came to this earth with divine and miraculous works that were proof positive of His deity and that He was the long-awaited and promised Messiah. He brought forth the Gospel in ways humanity had not even imagined or anticipated beforehand. Jesus was perfect and obedient to the Law, which none of us then, now, or anytime in the future would be able to do. The marvelous and amazing eternal righteousness that He effected for all that place their faith and trust in Him could not have been accomplished by any but God. Everything that God has done and will always do is for the benefit of humanity and His honor and glory. Of course, we could continue to chronicle all the great works of God through Christ Jesus forever, but I am sure that all have gotten the point.
