2 Timothy 2:12 if we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us.
According to world standards,
the Christian life is not the most comfortable life that one might seek to
endure. Once we accept Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior, some friends might
not understand and ridicule us. Some members of our own family may scorn or
deride the path in Christ Jesus we have chosen to follow. Our Lord and Savior,
Christ Jesus, lived His earthly life filled with scorn, ridicule, and
suffering. Even with the most extreme ridicule we might encounter, we will
never know even a tiny spec of the pain and suffering Jesus endured.
If we will but endure, we will
reign with Him now during this period of grace and rule and reign with Him
during the thousand years He is on the earth (Revelation 20:4-6). Those that
endure will also reign with Him throughout eternity in the "New Heaven and
the New Earth (Revelation 21:1-8). The reward for our endurance with Christ
Jesus on this earth is so far beyond any human or worldly concept or perception
that human thought patterns cannot explain it.
One can deny Christ Jesus with
words like many Jews did during His earthly ministry. Many on that day would not
accept that Jesus was the true promised Messiah. It is also possible to deny
the Holy name of Christ Jesus as the only way to Father God. This denial is
because people want to hold on to their pride and falsely believe that there
are some good works or deeds they can do to gain the recognition of God. The
scriptures are unambiguous in the truth that if one denies Christ Jesus in this
life, all He has done for humanity
through His sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary and continues to do, He will deny
them before the Father (Matthew 10:33).
As long as we breathe in our
mortal bodies, we have time to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and
surrender our lives to Him. All of the faithlessness of humans cannot move the
needle of God's faithfulness, even a spec on the gauge of eternity. No matter
when we choose to surrender our lives to Christ Jesus and make God's will for
our lives, our will, Jesus will come into our lives and reign with us. Some of
us have wandered off the path of Christ Jesus at times and realized, much like
the prodigal son, that we need to come back to our Heavenly Father's loving
arms. Just as the prodigal son's father prepared a great feast for his
wandering son, our Father in Heaven has prepared, for all that believe and
follow Him, a banquet without worldly comparison that will last for eternity.
