Bible Verse of the Day Sunday February 26th, 2023

Galatians 6:6 Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor.

The Israelites of the Old Testament were instructed to invite Gentiles into the encampment of Israel. They were to declare and decree that the God of Israel was the only one and true Lord and Savior of the world. These converts to Judaism had to be circumcised, follow the Law of Moses, and participate in the festivals and celebrations, follow the Sabbath Day regulations, and Worship the God of Israel in His Holy Temple.

As followers and believers in Christ Jesus, we are to carry the Gospel to the Ends of the earth (Acts 1:8), “making disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19-20). Just as the Israelites of old were to gather people in their encampment, we are to spread the good news of the Gospel of Christ Jesus to the unsaved of the world, regardless of the origin of Jew or Gentile. The first Christians were taught to see to the needs of the other followers and believers in Christ Jesus and assure that the men and women called by God the preach and teach the Gospel had their needs met. All followers and believers in Christ Jesus are blessed with spiritual blessings from heaven that cannot be compared with any good thing that this world has to offer.

Each time we listen to a Sunday School teacher, Bible study teacher, Preacher of the Word, or anyone who is bringing the Word of God, we are in Christian fellowship with him or her. Sharing all good things with their instructor in this verse is not restricted to material things but spiritual things as well. That is, every one of us should open our hearts and souls and be prepared to listen to the message and make it a part of who we are. Some Christians may not understand everything they hear from the teachers and preachers of the Gospel. Still, all Christians should be prepared to comprehend the lesson or message at their own spiritual maturity level.

Some Christians tend to let their minds wander to secular matters when they are listening to the teacher of the Gospel. The message may be on some subject that they deem unnecessary for their lives at this time. Then when, not if a trial or tribulation comes their way and they find themselves walking through some deep dark valley, they will not have the ammunition required to fight the spiritual battle that has come their way. It is incredibly challenging and problematic to attempt to learn how to fight the battle when you are in the thick of things, and Satan and his evil soldiers are coming at you from every flank.

Let us all, as followers and believers in Christ Jesus share the good news of the Gospel, giving liberally and generously of our God-given talents, our time, understanding and experiences, and material well-being. All the while, remembering that our blessings have come through the ones that have taught us, and that we should be a blessing to all people that God has put in our lives.
