Matthew 13:12 Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.
There
was a point during the earthly ministry of Christ Jesus that He knew the people
of Israel would reject the message He was bringing to the world. The Jewish
leaders and, in turn, the people in the Land of Israel rejected the idea that
Jesus was the true promised Messiah, coming to save the world from their sins.
They even went so far away from the truth of His ministry that they accused
Jesus of performing miracles on behalf of Satan (Matthew 12:24) instead of
through the power of the Holy Spirit of God. When people consider evil as good
and good as evil, their hearts are hardened and unable to recognize the truth
of the Word of God (Isaiah 5:20).
Once
the people began to follow the evil teachings of the Jewish leaders and denied
that Jesus was the true promised Messiah, He began to speak to his followers in
Parables. He did this so His faithful followers and believers could understand
His teaching and withheld from those who would not accept the truth of who
Jesus was. To some, this seems unfair that God hid the truth from these
detractors. However, it was the love Jesus had for them that he did so that
their sin of unbelief would not be worsened and intensified. This is because
the blood of Christ Jesus covers all sin except for one sin, the sin of
unbelief (John 3:18).
The
same holds today, to all people that respond positively to the Word of God's
message and apply it to their lives will receive more truth that will lead to
spiritual growth. One does not have to have a Ph. D. in Theology to understand
what God is telling the world in His Holy Word. The only requirement is a
surrender to God; His Holy Spirit will lead anyone into the truth He brings to
the world. However, those who reject the truth of God's Word will remain in
spiritual poverty and seek eternal separation from God.
Christ
Jesus is the true-hearted and devoted Savior of the world that will forgive all
sinners that come to Him in humility seeking forgiveness. However, God will not
tolerate or accept sin, and consequently, the one that sins through unbelief in
Christ Jesus will be separated from God for eternity in an awful place called
Hell. Although the words in John chapter 3 are a great comfort and reassurance
to all that believe in Christ Jesus, it is also a dire warning to those that
harden their hearts to the truth of the Gospel of Christ Jesus (John 3:16).
God is
a loving God, and He will allow all people to choose for themselves, eternal
life or death, heaven or Hell, forgiveness, or condemnation (John 3:17-18). An
old-worldly saying goes: "use it or lose it," which applies to the
Word of God. All people who respond to God's Word with acceptance and belief
will receive more spiritual truth, leading to more spiritual growth. God will
open all truth of His Word to all that seek after it. However, those who do not
seek the truth will lose all the blessings and benefits from a life surrendered
to God through our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.
