1 Corinthians 2:9
What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no
human mind has conceived—the things God has prepared for those who love him—
God puts a beautiful show on every morning, the sunrise, and one
of the most beautiful places you will ever view is at sea. It starts with a
slight orange glow on the eastern horizon and then becomes more and more
brilliant until the sun's edge is visible over the horizon. From this point on,
it would not be a good idea to look straight at the sun, but the color
accompanying its appearance surrounding the sun is magnificent. Viewing this
show from the eastern sky reminds us of another time when the eastern sky will
be lit up (Matthew 24:27).
Think of a small child
peering through a toy store window at Christmas and thinking, "oh, how
wonderful if I could only get in there and play with all those toys." But
alas, they are on the wrong side of the door. So unfortunately, while we are
here in this life, that is where we are, the wrong side of the door, but that
is not how it will always be. God's wonderful, beautiful promises in His Holy
Word tell us that one day Jesus will come for His children, and they will be
with Him for eternity.
God will make way for us
to be on the right side of the door. We will be with our Him for eternity not
because of anything we might do, nor any good works or righteousness we might
think we have. We cannot earn or even deserve the right to be in Heaven with
our Savior. It is all because of what He did on the "Old Rugged
Cross" many years ago. The Bible tells us in James 2:10 that
if you keep the whole Law and fail at one point, you are guilty of it all. No
human could hope to keep even a single part of one section of the Law, let
alone the whole Law, except one point. Because God knew this, He became flesh
and walked among us in the person of Christ Jesus to live the Law for us and
shed His perfect blood to atone for our sins (Titus 3:5)
The day we enter Heaven,
we will understand what Paul was referring to in this beautiful bible verse in
1 Corinthians 2:9. No human mind on this side of the door can come close to
conceiving what God has in store for the one that loves Him. So one day, Jesus
will open the door and call His children in, and we who have accepted Him for
who He is, and as our Lord and Savior will for eternity be on the "Right
Side of The Door" (Revelation 3:20).
