Romans 1:12 that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith.
The
Apostle Paul was enthusiastic and excited to share the mysteries that God had
revealed to him that God had hidden from the world since the beginning of time.
Paul desired that the doctrine they lived by was per the scriptures. He was
also concerned that their spiritual growth in Christ Jesus was developing, and
they were growing daily in grace in and through their faith in Christ Jesus.
Undoubtedly, Paul was enthusiastic about sharing worship and praise with his
fellow believers in Rome and worldwide. Paul had always been, and was until the
day of his death, unwavering and adamant about spreading the good news of the
Gospel of Christ Jesus to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). By the way, this is
the responsibility of every born again, washed in the blood, follower, and
believer in Christ Jesus.
Paul
went through many trials and tribulations that none of us can even imagine or
fathom the pain and suffering he endured for the Gospel's furtherance. Paul understood
he would be handed over to the officials in Rome one day and most likely would
result in his earthly demise. However, Paul understood nothing in this world
could separate him from the love of God in and through Christ Jesus, our Lord
and Savior (Romans 8:35-38). Paul wanted the followers and believers in Christ
Jesus, in Rome and throughout the world, to know and understand that truth so
that all Christians worldwide, which includes us today, could stand fast in
their faith in the Gospel of Christ Jesus.
The
Apostle Paul was not unlike us in that he needed encouragement from the body of
Christ Jesus. True fellowship with God's people brings joy and peace to our
lives found in no other place except the Word of God. That is why a consecrated
prayer life is essential to commune daily with our Lord, savior, creator, and
sustainer. When we reach the point that we know this close personal
relationship with Christ Jesus, we will sincerely desire to share that with our
other Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. Moreover, we will also develop a
strong desire to share the Gospel of Christ Jesus with lost souls we meet.
Today,
the world around us is becoming more evil at an alarming rate, making Christian
fellowship all the more critical. This evil comes from one place and one place
only, Satan and his evil followers. As followers and believers in Christ Jesus,
we have the lifeline to snatch the lost from hostile waters. First, however, we
must be ready and prepared to throw the life preserver to those drowning in the
sea of despair. Preparing ourselves for spreading the Gospel of Christ Jesus to
a lost, dark, and dying world will require a consecrated prayer life, in-depth
and extensive Bible Study, and personal and group study. It will also entail a
total surrender to Christ Jesus by turning our backs on the world and declaring
to God that our will is not essential; it is His will that we seek to follow.
