John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
John the Baptist was the earthly vessel God employed to
introduce His Son, our Lord, and Savior Christ Jesus, to this earth's people.
John bore witness that Jesus came from heaven to save all that believed in Him
from their sins. However, John the Baptist was not only the first earthly
witness to the coming of the promised Messiah, but he was also the promised
"voice crying in the wildness" (Isaiah 40:3). There is more to salvation leading to eternal life
than only believing that Jesus existed, there is an overwhelming supply of
historical writing that verify that Jesus did exist. Humans can only receive
the gift of eternal life by believing that Jesus is the true Son of God and
surrendering their lives, hearts, and souls to Him, turning their backs on the
ways of the world.
Father God has given God
the Son, Christ Jesus, the power, and authority to grant eternal life to any
who place their faith and trust in Him as their savior. The wrath of God falls
on all who will not believe that Jesus is the true promised Messiah and the
only way to salvation and eternal life (John 14:6). God does not accept the
fence riders when it comes to total surrender to Christ. There are no
accommodations in the plan of salvation for partial surrender; God only accepts
complete and total surrender.
Contrary to popular
belief, living a good Christian life will not bestow the gift of eternal life
on any human being. Furthermore, a person does not have to commit a massive
amount of sin to miss heaven's gates. God's Word informs us that we are all
sinners and that no one has any righteousness in us whatsoever (Romans 3:10;
3:23). There is no neutrality when making the life-changing decision to follow
Jesus. All people of the world have only two ways to turn, we either attempt to
live a life pleasing in God's Sight, on our own, which is an impossibility, or
we choose to follow Jesus and surrender our lives to Him. Every person not
saved stands at the crossroads of life, faced with only two decisions. One is
the way to eternal life, and the other leads to an eternity lost from God.
Jesus is the only true path to life.
